India are in danger of remaining win-less in an ODI series against any team other than Zimbabwe—having played against Bangladesh, South Africa, Australia, and Zimbabwe—since their ouster at the semi-final stage of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2015.
New Zealand will go into the Vizag ODI with their confidence sky high after the 19-run win in Ranchi, by doing which they have kept the five-ODI series against India alive. The hosts, on the other hand, produced a similar batting display in Ranchi to the one in Delhi, and their entire batting line-up has some major question marks over it, going into the fifth ODI, on Diwali, at the VCA Stadium.
India and New Zealand’s bowling attacks have come good and the batting line-ups have what let their teams down. But we cannot forget how closely this ODI series has been contested since India won the Dharamsala ODI by six wickets, thanks to a tactical masterstroke from MS Dhoni.
Cricfooty has come up with a video preview of the Vizag ODI. Enjoy the video and tell us your feelings ahead of the final ODI between the Men in Blue and the Blackcaps.
Will Kane Williamson’s men make history, having never won a bilateral ODI series in India, and travel back home on an extremely happy note?
Or, can Dhoni’s devils show the Kiwis who the boss is in their home conditions and come back strongly at the VCA Stadium, which has been a happy-hunting ground for them in recent years?
