After making an emphatic start to their Premier League season and to the Pep Guardiola era as well, Manchester City have suffered a huge loss of form which began with a 2-0 defeat to Tottenham Hotspur at White Hart Lane in October. They now sit third on the Premier League table and remain second in Group C of the 2016/17 UEFA Champions League, despite beating Barcelona 3-1 on matchday four.

The Blues are definitely not chasing any streaks of aberration, but by getting into one after another, Manchester City are not doing themselves any good.

And the teams who have held Manchester City to three consecutive 1-1 draws at home in the Premier League are those who you would have expected Guardiola’s men to beat.

Manchester City’s problems, though, have been “two-fold” in their last three Premier League fixtures, against Everton, Southampton and Middlesbrough, who were the latest visitors at the Etihad to deny City all three points.
