Manan Vohra made his highest Twenty20 score (a 50-ball 95) when Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) and Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) met at the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium in the earlier meeting on April 17. The Punjab batsman astounded one and all with his clean striking, particularly against a spinner who had bamboozled every batsman he bowled against, Rashid Khan.
Kings XI, though, were on the wrong side of the result, losing a close contest by five runs.
KXIP vs SRH Head-to-head
In nine matches between these two teams, Kings XI hold a 2-7 head-to-head record against Sunrisers Hyderabad.
Lest we forget that Sunrisers have lost three of their four away matches this season, with one of those being a washout. Good omens for Kings XI?

Match 33: KXIP vs SRH Playing XI
Darren Sammy, who was bought by Kings XI Punjab for 30 Lakh rupees at the IPL 2017 auction, joined up with his new team-mates on Wednesday (April 26), having missed the first half of the ongoing IPL season for an unknown reason.
The West Indian all-rounder might not come straight into Kings XI’s playing XI, though him doing so will see Sammy face his former IPL franchise. Glenn Maxwell’s men produced a complete display last Sunday to beat Gujarat Lions and bring their three-match losing streak to an end. And, unless someone has picked up an injury or become unwell in the four days between the two matches, I do not think Kings XI will alter their playing XI.
Kings XI’s probable playing XI vs SRH: 1. Glenn Maxwell (c), 2. Manan Vohra, 3. Hashim Amla, 4. Shaun Marsh, 5. Wriddhiman Saha (wk), 6. Marcus Stoinis, 7. Axar Patel, 8. KC Cariappa, 9. Mohit Sharma, 10. Sandeep Sharma, and 11. Thangarasu Natarajan
Actual playing XI for Kings XI: 1. Glenn Maxwell (c), 2. Manan Vohra, 3. Martin Guptill, 4. Shaun Marsh, 5. Wriddhiman Saha (wk), 6. Eoin Morgan, 7. Axar Patel, 8. KC Cariappa, 9. Mohit Sharma, 10. Anureet Singh, and 11. Ishant Sharma
Update: Amla and Natarajan miss out due to injuries.
For Sunrisers, Yuvraj Singh might still not be fit to play. Ashish Nehra, who has missed SRH’s last three matches due to a neck spasm, is likely to come back into the side… in place of Mohammed Siraj or Siddarth Kaul.
Sunrisers suffered a heart-breaking loss against Rising Pune Supergiant in the match before the washout in Bangalore. And their bowling attack, for once, failed to deliver. The Sunrisers’ bowlers, led by the now spearhead Bhuvneshwar Kumar, will hope to step up to the plate once again, against a strong Kings XI batting line-up.
SRH’s probable playing XI vs Kings XI: 1. David Warner (c), 2. Shikhar Dhawan, 3. Kane Williamson, 4. Moises Henriques, 5. Deepak Hooda, 6. Naman Ojha, 7. Bipul Sharma, 8. Bhuvneshwar Kumar, 9.Rashid Khan, 10. Ashish Nehra, and 11. Siddarth Kaul
