Match 47: KXIP vs GL Playing XI
Kings XI’s batting line-up had an off-night against Royal Challengers Bangalore and will look to cash in tonight against a low-quality Gujarat Lions bowling attack. While the batsmen had failed, the bowlers, led by Sandeep Sharma, caused more misery for the beleaguered RCB batting line-up and were the reason for the 19-run win. On the whole, Kings XI have become a more settled side as the season has progressed.
Unless a player has picked up an injury or fallen ill, Kings XI are not expected to tinker with their playing XI.

Gujarat will only be playing for pride but their problems have been compounded by the unavailability of Brendon McCullum for the final three matches of this season. The former New Zealand captain suffered a hamstring injury while fielding at long-on against Delhi Daredevils, and though he remained on the field, the injury has gotten worse in the aftermath of that match.
McCullum has joined Dwayne Bravo and Andrew Tye on the injury list, leaving Gujarat, who had only eight overseas players in their squad at the start of this season, with only four overseas players to pick from or include in their playing XI: Dwayne Smith, Aaron Finch, James Faulkner, and Chirag Suri.
Note: IPL teams are allowed to include only four overseas players, but this is not a mandate. And, in the past, a lot of teams have fielded just three foreign players in their playing XIs.
The same might well happen with Gujarat tonight unless they opt to bring in the United Arab Emirates player for the injured McCullum.
McCullum’s absence might prove to be a blessing in disguise for Lions, who can restore Ishan Kishan, who was scoring runs and getting his team off to good starts at the top of the order, as an opener alongside Dwayne Smith.

Kings XI vs Gujarat Match Prediction
Gujarat Lions are a good side who have quality all-rounders like Ravindra Jadeja and James Faulkner. And if not for their weak and one-dimensional bowling attack, Lions might well be in a better position on the points table. Kings XI, as aforementioned, are a settled side who, after Sunrisers lost to Supergiant, have seen their chances of reaching the playoffs brighten. But, as the team with all to play for, tonight’s hosts will be under a little bit of pressure against Gujarat. You can expect a close contest which could end with Gujarat coming up trumps.
