Chelsea became the Premier League and English champions for the fifth time and the likes of Arsenal, Liverpool, Manchester City, and Manchester United will look to regain the title from Antonio Conte’s men in the 2017/18 season.
Sunderland (20th), Middlesbrough (19th) and Hull City (18th) are the three teams who have been relegated to the Championship. Newcastle United and Brighton and Hove Albion have gained promotion to the English top-flight, by finishing first and second, respectively, in the Championship. Huddersfield Town beat Reading 4-3 on penalties in the Championship playoff final, to seal their promotion to the English top-flight. The upcoming season will be their first in the Premier League, having last been a top-flight club in 1972.
Though the last season finished just seven days ago, the 26th edition of the Premier League can’t come soon enough for its global fans.
