Carabao Cup telecast in India 2019-20

In what should come as good news for football fans in India, the Carabao Cup final between Manchester City and Aston Villa will be telecast live on TV in India. Vh1, Vh1 HD and Colors Infinity are the channels airing the all-Premier League clash. JioTV will provide the live stream.

The match is scheduled to kick-off at London’s Wembley Stadium at 22:00 IST on Sunday (March 1).

While the official website has listed Viacom18 and JioTV as the broadcasters in India, football fans in the country have been able to watch the marquee matches from the competition on Vh1, MTV and Colors Infinity in the last two seasons. The case in point being the live broadcast of last season’s semi-final between Tottenham Hotspur and Chelsea on Vh1, the same channel which, along with MTV in India, aired the 2018 and 2019 Carabao Cup finals.

None of the third-round matches this season, involving the likes of Manchester City, the defending champion, Liverpool, Arsenal, and Chelsea, was shown on TV in India. The subsequent rounds of fixtures, including Liverpool’s last-16 match against Arsenal and Chelsea’s fixture against Manchester United in the same round, were broadcast live on the Vh1 and Colors Infinity channels.

  1. Hi i saw in the EFL page that the carabao cup was bought but ITW Digital broadcast in India. Can you please check that.

    1. Yes, EFL Cup website has listed ITW Digital as the broadcaster in India. But so far, we have no information about their channels and whether they are airing the Carabao Cup matches.

  2. Hi all

The matches are officially broadcast in India by VEQTA Sports ( This is a broadcast service run by the company ITW Digital. The VEQTA Sports service offers an annual subscription to its platforms. The EFL Cup (Carabao Cup) games are part of the subscription which gives fans access for one year to all the LIVE and On-demand content from global sports properties such as Major League Baseball, WTA Tennis, EFL Cup, ITTF Table Tennis Tour, HSBC World Rugby Sevens, National Basketball League (NBL) Australia, World Rally Championships, Professional Fighters League, and Lucha Libre.

  3. VEQTA Sports sent an update, that they will not show this going forward in India. Any alternative website/app/ TV channel?

  4. Guys,
The Chelsea vs Manchester United Carabao Cup match on 31st October 2019

  5. Why the indian sports channels don’t brocast very vital football tournaments while rest of the world are brocasting them ?.
Is it that they are encouraging cricket to watch by whole world? If so its absolutely foolish approach .

Your opinion...
