Manchester United begin their pre-season tour of Australia with a friendly against Australian A-League team Perth Glory at the Optus Stadium in Perth on Saturday (July 13). The kick-off is at 16:30 IST. It is the first of six pre-season matches for the 13-time Premier League champion before they get their 2019-20 season underway on August 11.
This pre-season tour provides the club’s fans a chance to get a glimpse of the two new signings: Aaron Wan-Bissaka on a £50m deal from Crystal Palace, and Daniel James, a winger, signed on a £15m deal from Swansea City.
Unfortunately for United fans in India, none of the TV channels is airing the Perth Glory friendly live, so they will have to rely on the live stream on MUTV on the official club website. Fans will have to sign up (in case they haven’t already) by providing their first and last names, date of birth, country and time zone, to watch these matches. Alternatively, fans can also sign up using their Facebook account.
Even United’s International Champions Cup matches against Inter Milan, Tottenham Hotspur and AC Milan later this month and in early-August don’t have a broadcaster at the time of writing. The last time any United’s pre-season fixture was shown was in July 2017, when Sony Pictures Network aired the International Champions Cup fixtures on their channels.
The upcoming Premier League season will continue to be shown on Star Sports, who renewed the broadcast rights for the next three seasons.
