About the most expensive players in IPL 2021
Chris Morris is the most expensive player in IPL 2021, and the second-costliest in IPL history (behind Virat Kohli, who’s paid Rs 17 crore per season by Royal Challengers Bangalore), after Rajasthan Royals bought him for Rs 16.25 crore, having set himself at a base price of Rs 75 lakh. The winning bid for Morris surpasses the Rs 16 crore that Delhi Capitals (DC) paid for Yuvraj Singh at the IPL 2015 auction.
Kiwi Kyle Jamieson is the second-most expensive buy at the IPL 2021 auction at Rs 15 crore after Royal Challengers Bangalore at 20 times his base price (Rs 75 lakh). He is now the fifth-most expensive player in IPL history, behind Kohli, Morris, Yuvraj Singh (Rs 16 crore) and Pat Cummins (Rs 15.5 crore).
Glenn Maxwell is the sixth-most expensive player in IPL history, and the third-costliest at the IPL 2021 auction, after being bought for Rs 14.25 crore by three-time IPL finalist RCB. Maxwell’s base price at the auction was Rs 2 crore.
K Gowtham is the most expensive Indian player in IPL 2021 after being bought for Rs 9.25 crore by three-time IPL champion Chennai Super Kings at the auction. The Karnataka spin-bowling allrounder had set himself at a base price of Rs 20 lakh.
