  • Prasidh Krishna was the game-changer for India with his spell of 9-3-12-4. Making the most of the extra zip and bounce off the pitch, Prasidh provided timely breakthroughs that handcuffed the West Indies in their pursuit of 238.
  • The victory was India’s 66th in ODIs (135) against the West Indies.
  • Earlier, the home team recovered from 43 for three as KL Rahul and Suryakumar Yadav shared a 91-run partnership for the fourth wicket before the former was run-out on 49.
  • Suryakumar went on to make his second ODI half-century and also his highest ODI score, an 83-ball 64, and fell just as he tried to accelerate the scoring rate.
  • The Mumbai batsman was measured early in his knock and played a supporting role in the partnership with Rahul. But after Rahul fell, Suryakumar batted with typical flair and flourish as India tried to post a total around 250 after being put in to bat.
  • With regular captain Kieron Pollard sitting out the match with a niggle, Nicholas Pooran led the West Indies. He became the 30th West Indies ODI captain.
  • It was India’s 10th victory in 12 ODIs under Rohit Sharma’s captaincy.
