South Africa left for England on May 16, to play in a three-ODI, three-T20I and four-Test series, which is named as the Basil D’Oliveira Trophy. Two legs of the Proteas’ tour have concluded, with England winning the ODI and T20I series by 2-1 margins. The last and final assignment is indeed the four-Test series which gets underway on July 6.

The Test series will be a different ball game to the two limited-overs series and we should be in for classic Test cricket when these two teams get down to business in the first week of July 2017. South Africa announced a 16-man squad for the four-Test series on June 26, nine days before the start.

Enjoy what should be a riveting contest between the Three Lions and the Proteas, who rarely fail to exhilarate us in the longest format of the sport, in particular, whether they play in the UK or in South Africa.
